Attorneys And Counselors At LawRed Pollution Day Forecast For Metroplex
Jun 23, 2008 | Staff | NBC News
The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is forecasting a level red pollution watch for the Dallas-Fort Worth area for Sunday.
Experts said people with respiratory problems such as asthma or allergies should try to stay indoors on Sunday. Also, prolonged exercise outdoors should be avoided, they said.
Air pollution brews when temperatures are high, there is high humidity, calm winds and little rain wind. The conditions cause high ozone levels, which make the air unhealthy to breathe.
Environmental officials said North Texans should also limit driving to combat dirty air.
Officials also suggested people should refuel their cars after dusk to cut down on fuel evaporation and not use their lawn mowers.
