Family OK after carbon monoxide scare

An Overland Park family of four was taken to the hospital this morning after suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Fire officials said the family awoke feeling sick and called for help. Crews found high levels of the gas when they arrived at the home in the 10500 block of Bluejacket Street.

None of the family members was seriously hurt and were being treated at the hospital.

Officials said the cause of the excessive gas may have been a faulty furnace.
