New York Medtronic Defibrillator Lawsuit

What are Medtronic Sprint Fidelis Leads?

They are specific models of cardiac electordes that connect an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator directly to the heart.

How do defibrillators work?

They monitor heart rhythms. This product sends and electrical shock to restore normal rhythm when irregular heartbeats are detected. They also keep the heart from going too fast. They are surgically implanted for patients at the risk of sudden cardiac arrest.

Why are the Medtronic Sprint Fidelis Leads being Recalled?

These leads form the Medtronic defibrillators are being recalled because of the potential for lead fractures. The wires are prone to fracture in a small number of patients that have them. This could cause unnecessary shock or the disablement of the difibrillator itself. Some deaths and serious injuries have been reported as a result of a failure of the leads in the Medtronic defibrillators.

How many people have had this device implanted?

There are approximately 268,000 Medtronic defibrillators with Sprint Fidelis leads implanted worldwide including 172,000 implanted in the United States alone.

If you or a family member have had a Medtronic defibrillator with Spring Fidelis leads implantated, please contact the New York Product Liability Lawyers of Finz & Finz, P.C. today at (888) FINZ-FIRM or fill out the the Free Medtronic Sprint Fidelis Lead Case Evaluation form.
