Archstone Westbury Mold Eviction Lawsuit

Residents of the Archstone Westbury Apartment complex were shocked to receive news of eviction when their apartments were plagued by mold and mildew. All residents have until March 2008 to pack up and move. Only one year old, the complex is being cleared of 400 or more residents. Officials call the mold and mildew problem a "pervasive water intrustion."

Reconstruction of the Archstone Westbury apartment complex will take one year or more to complete and it is expected to begin in April 2008.

Poor Construction Results in Leaky Wildows Mold Mildew and Illness

Residents rightfully think the situation is outrageous and have had to deal with leaky windows and mold growing in their homes. Some renters have developed coughs, and other respiratory problems and have made complaints to the management but the problem was never fixed.

Eviction Due to Neglect by Builders and Apartment Complex Owners

David Pendery, who is a spokesman for the company stated that the residents would be given "relocation assistance packages," which would give them a limited sum of money for rent depending on how many bedrooms they had at the Archstone Westbury apartments. He also said that there was no guarentee that all of the tenants would be able to move back into their apartments after the reconstruction was completed.

Archstone Westbury Must Acknowledge Responsibility

"Archstone must acknowledge how serious this situation is and take every step to ensure the health and the safety of the tenants at the Archstone Westbury apartments" said Stuart Finz of the Finz law firm.

Adequate Compensation Must be Paid to Archstone Westbury Residents
