Police investigating 9-month-old Pleasanton boy's head trauma

Police are investigating how a 9-month-old Pleasanton boy ended up with head trauma after his baby sitter took him to an emergency room, police said.

Around 4:25 p.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to Valley Care Medical Center after the infant began vomiting and became unresponsive, Pleasanton police Sgt. Kris Phelps. Doctors soon determined the child suffered head trauma, Phelps said.

The infant was airlifted to Children's Hospital Oakland and was in surgery shortly after arrival, Phelps said.

Pleasanton police are investigating the case.
