Two Ardmore High School students were killed in an accident involving a log truck Tuesday afternoon.
17-year-old Jordan M. Young and 17-year-old John McCown, both of Ardmore, were killed when their vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign.
State Troopers say Young was driving west on Bain Road in a 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier. He collided with a 2002 Peterbuilt Truck driven by 61-year-old Clifton Stubblefield, of Petersburg, Tennessee. Stubblefield was driving south on Mooresville Road.
Stubblefield was not injured in the wreck.
State Troopers say both victims were wearing their seatbelts and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Troopers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
According to Ardmore High School's website, the school will have counselors from other county schools coming to help students. Area youth ministers and pastors will also be on hand to talk to students.
Funeral arrangements have been set for both victims.
Visitation is for John McCown is Wednesday night at Ardmore Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00pm, and his funeral will be held Thursday at 5:00 p.m. at Gatlin Cemetery.
Visitation for Jordan Young is set for Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Ardmore Funeral Home with the funeral following that at Gatlin Cemetery.
