A crash on westbound I-4 near Fairbanks Avenue had Interstate 4 shut down most of the night.

At 2:00 a.m. Orange County dispatchers received multiple calls for an accident on Interstate 4. Firefighters found a jack-knifed tractor trailer burning and approximately 75 gallons of diesel fuel spilled on the road. The UPS trailer appeared to be loaded with mail items and firefighters did not identify any hazardous cargo.

Westbound lanes of Interstate 4 were completely closed as Orange County Fire Rescue worked to clear the crash, while the Florida Highway Patrol directed traffic. Just after 5:00 a.m. one lane westbound was reopened and all lanes were cleared just after 8:00 a.m..

Two people who were listed as stable, were transported to a local hospital. No injuries to firefighters were reported.

Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident and said charges are pending.
