CEDAR RAPIDS - One in six men will get prostate cancer, but if caught early, nearly 100 percent of those men will survive. Early prostate cancer has no symptoms, so that's why screening is so important. And when the screening comes to you, it's a little difficult to skip.

It's called the Drive Against Prostate Cancer. It's a bus where men can actually get a prostate exam for free. Many men shy away from the exam because of embarrassment or the paperwork, but it could save your life.

The first part of the exam is actually the blood test. The prostate specific antigen or PSA blood test is the best option for early detection.

After the test, you get the results back in about four to six weeks in the mail. Next comes the DRE or digital rectal exam, a physical exam of the prostate.

The doctor will next look for any bumps or abnormalities on the surface of your prostate that might be tumor growth.

Officials estimate about 200 people showed up for Thursday's screening bus. The bus travels across the nation throughout the year.
