Motorcyclist critically injured in wreck

The driver of a motorcycle was critically injured after losing control of his vehicle on Floyd Road in Gainesville on Saturday.

According to an eyewitness account, 25-year-old Andrae Busby of Lawrenceville was traveling at a high rate of speed when the accident occurred. The Georgia State Patrol says Busby was thrown off the cycle and hit a utility pole. His vehicle traveled in excess of 200 feet.

Busby was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

The wreck happened on Floyd Road near Barnes Drive just before 6:30 p.m.
