Some see new traffic circle design as hazard
Feb 11, 2008 | Associated Press | inRich News
Q: A traffic circle has been constructed on Winterfield Road just north of Midlothian Turnpike. It is a small, oddly shaped circle, and I don't understand the reason for building it. In my opinion it is a traffic hazard for tractor trailers. Although Winterfield Road is not a through road, tractor-trailers do occasionally come up Winterfield when people are moving to and from the homes. I don't believe a tractor trailer can make the turns without jumping the curves. Could you contact the Virginia Department of Transportation and see what the reason was for installing this apparent traffic hazard? I am sure I am not the only area resident that is wondering about this.
Answer: It's true you're not the only person wondering about this intersection.
