I-25 CLOSED in Denver After Fatal Accident

An accident on northbound I-25 at 6th Avenue has shut down the highway. The accident involved a pedestrian, that person died in the accident and all lanes are shut down at the accident scene. Traffic is being diverted onto eastbound 6th Avenue and police recommend using any alternate route you can think of to get around it if your travels take you in that direction. Crews recommend using I-225 to I-70 or Broadway, University, Colorado Blvd, Federal or Sheridan. There is no time frame on when the highway might reopen. Denver police will have to investigate the accident before they can get the highway open.

There is also a 12-car accident at southbound I-25 across from the fatal accident in the left lane. Traffic is slow from 120th on into Downtown Denver.
