Accident cleared on I-84 in Newtown

7:50 a.m. Emergency crews were on their way to a rollover accident on Interstate 84 east between exits 9 and 10.

The vehicle is apparently on the median between the east and west bound lanes.

The occupant is out of the vehicle.

Expect delays in both directions.

7:56 a.m. Emergency crews from Newtown arrived on the scene and confirmed the accident is in the median.

There appears to be one car involved, a four-door sedan.

8 a.m. A firefighter from the scene said one person was in the car. He or she was able to get out of the wreck before emergency crews arrived.

8:07 a.m. The victim from the crash is being transported to Danbury Hospital.

8:25 a.m. The victim from the crash arrived in an ambulance at Danbury Hospital. Delays still reported on I-84.

8:31 a.m. State police said the vehicle involved in the crash was cleared from the scene. Residual delays were reported on the highway.
