Connecticut boy dies in Lake Champlain

Police in Ticonderoga are investigating a boating accident that killed a 15-year-old Connecticut boy on Lake Champlain over the weekend.

Investigators say Daniel Nadeau of Mansfield, Connecticut was riding in the bow of a 20-foot fishing boat in choppy water when he fell overboard and was hit on the head by the propeller.

The boy and others in his family were participating in the Connecticut Outdoors fishing tournament

Nadeau was pulled back aboard and the boat returned to a boat launch near the Fort Ticonderoga ferry dock. He was pronounced dead by Essex County Coroner Paul Connery.
